Frequently Asked Questions

What shank type do these burs use?

All three configurations use a φ4 mm smooth shank that is collet-clamped in Zotion milling machines. This is not a threaded shank.

Are these burs compatible with Sirona CEREC MC, MC X, or MC XL machines?

No. Sirona CEREC MC, MC X, and MC XL use a proprietary M3.5 threaded shank, not a φ4 mm smooth shank. These burs are for Zotion machines with a collet-clamped φ4 mm spindle.

Which head diameter should I choose for which milling stage?

The φ2.5 mm bur is suited for bulk material removal and roughing. The φ1.0 mm and φ0.6 mm burs are suited for finishing and fine detail work such as occlusal anatomy, margins, and interproximal areas.

What materials can these burs mill?

They are intended for glass ceramics: lithium disilicate (IPS e.max), feldspathic ceramic, Vita Suprinity, and Celtra Duo. They are not for metals, zirconia, or composites.

Can I use these burs for dry milling?

No. These burs are designed for wet milling only, either chairside or in the lab.

How do I know when to replace a bur?

Replace the bur when you observe increased chipping on restoration margins, visible loss of diamond coating on the cutting section, higher spindle load, or reduced surface finish quality on milled restorations.

Are these original Zotion burs or aftermarket?

These are aftermarket burs manufactured by SINCEN Dental, designed to fit Zotion machines with a φ4 mm collet-clamped smooth shank. They are not OEM Zotion burs.
