Application

The φ2.5mm bur is suited for roughing and bulk material removal in the initial milling stage. The φ1.0mm bur handles semi-finishing of main anatomy, while the φ0.6mm bur is used for fine finishing, margin definition, and intricate details.

Limitations

These burs are not for metal, zirconia, or dry milling applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What shank type do these burs use?

All three configurations use a φ3mm smooth shank (collet-clamped), not a threaded interface. This matches the XTCERA X-Mill D-ONE tool holder.

Are these burs compatible with Sirona CEREC MC, MC X, or MC XL?

No. Sirona CEREC MC, MC X, and MC XL use a proprietary M3.5 threaded shank, not a φ3mm smooth shank. CEREC 3 uses M1.8. These burs are only for XTCERA X-Mill D-ONE systems.

Which head diameter should I choose for roughing versus finishing?

The φ2.5mm bur is typically used for bulk material removal in the roughing stage. The φ1.0mm bur suits semi-finishing of occlusal and axial surfaces. The φ0.6mm bur is intended for fine detail, tight fissures, and margin areas.

How do I know when to replace the bur?

Watch for visible loss of diamond coating, chipping or rounding of the cutting edges, increased milling time, or surface roughness on the restoration. These are signs the bur is worn and should be replaced.

Can these burs mill zirconia or metal?

No. These burs are specified for glass ceramics only: lithium disilicate (IPS e.max), feldspathic ceramic, Vita Suprinity, and Celtra Duo. They are not intended for zirconia, metal, or composite materials.

Are these burs suitable for dry milling?

No. These burs are designed for wet milling. Dry milling of glass ceramics with these tools can cause overheating and premature coating wear.

Are these SINCEN burs OEM or aftermarket?

SINCEN Dental is a bur manufacturer, not the machine OEM. These are aftermarket burs engineered to fit the XTCERA X-Mill D-ONE tool interface and material requirements.
